Dismal Weather Couldn’t Take Away from an Evening Full of Praise, Inspiration, Hope, and Celebration
Despite the gloomy weather, spirits were high within the sanctuary of Big Bethel’s AME Church during Trinity Community Ministries’ 2013 Graduation ceremony. Family members and friends of graduates were rewarded for weathering the elements, with songs of praise from board member Kathryn Stanley, Dee Dee Bulloch and stirring words of inspiration from former resident, Willie “Obadele” McClendon who spoke of his own recovery due to the power and grace found within the walls of Trinity House-Big Bethel and his Higher Power. The event concluded with a moving tribute to this year’s graduating class, as each man, who has journeyed from a past full of despair, stepped forward to receive his diploma and in doing so, moved toward a future filled with hope.
There were few dry eyes at the end of this powerful ceremony, and as the crowd moved together toward the Holiday Open House they encountered a welcomed atmosphere of good cheer, with festive music and assorted refreshments, as the celebration continued into the evening.
