Virtual Fall Honorary Board Breakfast Recap

On October 30th, Trinity Community Ministries made history by hosting it’s first-ever Virtual Honorary Board Breakfast. Each year in both the Spring and the Fall we host a celebratory breakfast that brings together our Honorary Board and extended community of supporters and volunteers. This group, vital to the long-term sustainability of our overall mission to support the men of Trinity House reclaim their lives, has gone the extra mile in supporting us through the current global pandemic.

During this pandemic, we saw the world scatter to find food and cleaning supplies.

At Trinity Community Ministries we saw our supporters, volunteers, alumni and staff rally to the call for supplies and donations to keep our clients sheltered and safe. We saw our Honorary Board members come together to purchase a large flat screen and webcam which enabled Zoom technology thereby connecting our clients for bible study and T.E.A.M. Dinners.

Every year the Honorary Board Breakfast serves as a celebration of the men and women who have helped our program since our opening in 1981. We normally gather in person and fellowship over breakfast and celebrate our success as a program but in the midst of Covid-19, we came together virtually to celebrate our success.

A few highlights from the Virtual Board Breakfast:

  • Brandon Smith “Damani” opened with a testimonial.

  • A video montage which depicted our year in review and produced by Board of Director, Lauren Patrick was shared with our audience.

  • Andrea Young, Executive Director of the ACLU was our Keynote Speaker who shared a story of opportunity and inspiration.

  • Exzavia Frazier a recent graduate shared his story of transformation.

  • Executive Director Anita DeMyers, highlighted the success we have had since our shutdown in March

  • Honorary Board opportunity delivered by Chris Kane and David Smith members of our Development Committee

  • Receptionist/T.E.A.M. Dinner Host Felicia Jones awarded Kim and Greg Detwiler with the 2020 Lifetime Achievement Award

This year, we want to thank our Trinity Community Ministries, supporters and volunteers who stayed connected and helped us continue to transform lives in the face of adversity. A special “thank you’ to our incredible Board of Directors and especially our Board Chair, Stephen Smith and Lauren Patrick, Chair of our Marketing Committee for producing our event.

Our Mission: Helping homeless men reclaim their lives and return to their families and communities as mentors and leaders.
